HFD Working Fire and The Importance of Fire Alarms

At 12:10 pm HFD was dispatched for an activated fire alarm. Upon the arrival of our Sr. Capitan Kelley he reported heavy smoke coming from the second floor bedroom and immediately upgraded the call to a working fire. Engine 33 and crew arrived on scene and were advised the fire was in the bathroom and quickly stretched a hose line into the building and extinguished the fire before extending anywhere else in the house. Engine 34 came in as our 2nd due engine company picking up our water supply along with Rescue 36 as an acting truck company.

Due to the home having smoke detectors the fire department was notified and had time to respond before the fire had time to extend any where else in the house. Thus proving the importance of smoke alarms and how the save lives and homes.
