Francis J. Streich Sept 1, 1929 - July 21, 2004

Frank Streich joined the Hillsdale Fire Department on June 10th, 1952 as a member of the Hose Company. 

He took on the role of Hose Company Secretary in 1953-1954.

Frank became an auxiliary driver in 1954-1955, and a regular driver from 1956-1979.

Frank was the Mechanic of the Mack Hose Truck in 1957-1958.

Frank became Exempt on June 10th, 1959.

Frank was a member of the Fire Prevention Bureau from 1954-1964.

Frank became 2nd Lieutenant of the Hose Company in 1959. He served as 2nd Lt. again in 1960. He served as 1st Lt. from 1961-1962. He was elected Captain for 1963 and 1964. He then moved out of town briefly, and was rejoined as a regular member of the Hook & Ladder Company in April of 1966. He was elected Captain in May of 1966. He served as Asst. Chief in 1967, and was elected Chief in 1968.

Frank was elected Vice President of the Association in 1980-1981 and served as President in 1982.

Frank also completed his Firefighter II equivalency in October of 1982.

Frank was known by members of the department to be a very honest and generous person. In addition to his time spent serving as an officer, he was also vocal in departmental affairs. Frank was also known to be a good softball and basketball player.
